Inflammation and The Paleo Diet


Inflammation in the body can be exacerbated from certain grains we eat, especially those containing gluten. We do not always notice how inflammation affects us, but it can restrict our organs, tissues and glands from functioning properly. We may end up with unexpected health issues such as weight gain and even infertility.

Before man could process grains into flour, and before industries began stripping our foods of nutrients to make cheap flours and genetically modified grains, we ate foods from the earth in their natural form. This is known today as the Paleo Diet .

I eat a variation of the Paleo Diet; Protein and vegetable rich, Gluten free, and minimal grains. I do not eat raw, because raw is harder on the body to process. Your vegetables should be slightly steamed or cooked, which is a basic form of predigestion.

The easiest thing you can do to reduce inflammation is just substitute all wheat products with gluten free options:

Pasta = Rice Pasta
Bread = Gluten Free bread
Oats = Gluten Free Oats

Concentrate on replacing as many grain based carbs with vegetables as you can. You don’t need the complex carbs you once believed were important to have energy. You can get your energy from vegetable sources.
